The OnePlus 13R will likely see the light of the day in a few months because it is rumoured to launch in early 2025. While there is no official confirmation on this, there are chances that this could turn out to be true because the OnePlus 12R was announced in January 2024. While we will have to wait for some time to get information on when the 12R will arrive, the leaks have already given some idea of its key specs. We will also have a look at the expected India price of the OnePlus 13R. Here are the details.
The OnePlus 13R will likely be a rebranded version of the OnePlus Ace 5 which is yet to launch in China. But, how can we be so sure? Well, it is not confirmed but the previous OnePlus Ace versions have arrived in global markets in the name of OnePlus R series. Since the OnePlus 13R is rumoured to be the Ace 5, the specs of the Chinese version have leaked online. This gives us some idea of what to expect from the upcoming 13R version in terms of specs.
The OnePlus 13R is tipped to draw power from last year’s flagship Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset. This is not surprising because the OnePlus 12R also used a year-old flagship chip. This is a trend that several brands follow – offering the latest Qualcomm chip with their flagship phones and keeping the older ones for the more affordable premium versions. For your reference, the OnePlus 12 is powered by a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC and the 12R packs a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chip.
The OnePlus 13R may come with up to 16GB LPDDR5X RAM and up to 512GB UFS 4.0 storage. The device could also feature a 6.78-inch LTPO panel with 1.5K resolution. The screen will likely have support for 120Hz refresh rate. The rest of the details regarding the screen specs are unknown right now.
For photography, we could see a triple rear camera setup. This includes a 50-megapixel main camera, an 8-megapixel sensor and a 2-megapixel camera. On the front, we might see a 16-megapixel selfie camera.
Under the hood, the OnePlus 13R features a 6,000mAh battery. The company could offer support for 100W fast charging tech, according to leaks. OnePlus will likely bundle a charger in the box along with the smartphone, just like all the other smartphones. The rest of the specs are currently under wraps and more details are expected to be revealed in the coming weeks.
The OnePlus 13R is expected to cost between Rs 40,000 to Rs 45,000 in India. The OnePlus 12R was launched at Rs 39,999. OnePlus is expected to either retain the price or increase it by a few thousand rupees. If we go by its past launches, the OnePlus 13R could be introduced with a price hike. But, the price of the OnePlus 13R is expected to be lower than the Realme GT 7 Pro, which will soon launch in India.
In China, the Realme GT 7 Pro is selling at CNY 3,699 (around Rs 43,900). It is said to arrive in India under Rs 50,000, which would be lower than the iQOO 12. OnePlus will have to keep the price of the OnePlus 13R under Rs 45,000 because the Realme GT 7 Pro will launch with the latest Snapdragon 8 Lite chipset. The iQOO 13 will also use the same chip, but it is expected to be priced higher than Rs 50,000 segment. To recall, the iQOO 12 was announced in India at Rs 52,999. It will be interesting to see how OnePlus will price its new 13R smartphone to attract buyers.
